9 Steps Area Rug Cleaning Fort Hancock NJ 07732
Step 1: Pre-Inspection and Pick Up in Fort Hancock
We will establish as much as we possibly can about the style of oriental rug and inherent characteristics that could affect cleaning. We will define the anticipated results and procedure “prescription”. We will come to your home to pick up your rug.
Step 2: Dry Soil Removal – Dusting
Woven rugs, particularly hand knotted rugs, are made to hide dry soil. A few years ago, the Eureka company did a study and found that a 9 x 12 could obscure 87 pounds of dirt! WOW! We use a variety of techniques to “dust” the rugs from the front and back. A piece of equipment known as a pile lifter, special vacuum attachments, and many other techniques are executed. This is the most important in cleaning any fabric. We have three types of dusting equipment. 1. Tumbling, 2.Beater, which beats on the back of the carpet, 3. Hand-made beater.
Step 3: Pre-Condition
Preconditioning is used to break down traffic area soil and common areas as well as to prepare your rug for maximum soil removal. First Class Rug Cleaning uses SPECIAL cleaning products. These products do not contain fragrances, VOC’s, solvents, phosphates, or any dangerous products. They are biodegradable and environmentally safe. The pre-conditioner is usually deep scrubbed into the face pile.
Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation
Any spots and fringe will be pre-treated by way of unique solutions to increase chances of removal. Cotton backing and fringe has natural lignin dye inside it. This brown dye may bleed out in the rug cleaning and drying procedure. The fringe is also pre-treated for optimum soil removal.
Step 5: Soaking, Rinse or Wash
Soaking is among the most important processes a rug can go through. By soaking the rug, we can eliminate dirt, pet stains, and fluid spills. Dependant on the type of oriental rug, it is rinsed with removal equipment on both sides or washed in a wash pit developed especially for Oriental Rugs.
Step 6: Shampoo
Most carpets are cleaned with an Oriental Rug Shampoo that’s especially made for getting maximum cleansing. This process is completed after washing and rinsing the rug. It makes the design sharper and takes out the loose wool from your area rug.
Step 7: Speed Dry
Once the soil is washed away, the carpet is dried flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment. Effective drying is essential to refrain from unnatural shrinkage.
Step 8: Finishing
When the area rug is dry, it will be combed and completed with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.
Step 9: Post Inspection and Delivery
Our cleaning specialist will give the rug a last inspection and release it for delivery. Your rug will be wrapped in brown craft paper to protect it from dirt and environmental soils until it is delivered. Upon delivery, we will position the rug for you.[wc_divider style=”solid” line=”single” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=””]

Fort Hancock Area Rugs Cleaning Tips
How to Care for your Oriental Rug
[wc_box color=”inverse” text_align=”left”]
Rotation – To insure even wear, your area rug needs to be rotated annually. Based on the traffic, the rotation may vary from six months to two years.
Vacuuming – Oriental rugs, like most carpeting, must be vacuumed regularly to eliminate dirt and restore life to the fibers. Be certain to not vacuum the fringe with your beater bar! Utilize the end of a vacuum hose from a canister vacuum.
Padding – A high quality pad used under your rug helps protect it from dirt, wear, and slippage.
Spot and Spill Procedures – Make sure that you safely and right away cleanse spots and spills before they set.
1. First, absorb the excess liquid by blotting with a clean absorbent material. Don’t brush or rub the stain.
2. Then spot-clean with a mild detergent-white vinegar-water solution. Never over saturate.
3. Rinse area thoroughly with water plus a small amount of vinegar. Try to avoid wetting the rug’s backing.
4. Blot dry until the majority of the moisture has been absorbed.
5. Let it air dry. A fan or cool hair dryer may be used to hasten the drying process.
For spots that don’t come out using these methods, please call us.[/wc_box]
