Oriental rugs can be quite expensive and may be typically made from wool, cotton, and silk fibers. Area rugs are NOT cleaned the same way as wall to wall carpet is cleaned. Much of today’s modern truck mounted equipment solution temperatures are too hot and use too high of PH. This will cause shrinking of natural fibers and dye bleeds.

Warning!: Never allow anybody to clean rugs while in the home, they can’t be properly cleaned!

Common problems that occur concerning home oriental rug cleaning:

  • The fringe won’t be cleaned properly, cotton fringe will brown out
  • The fiber and dyes if left too wet for too long may bleed
  • Musty odors can occur without the proper drying equipment
  • Proper removal of dry soils which have settled at the base of the fibers
  • Pet stain and pet odor aren’t removed
  • Damage to floor coverings from moisture (wood floors)
  • Moth and bug treatments can’t be applied
  • Odor problems won’t be solved
  • Waste of money for poor cleaning

Don’t gamble with your investment, there is a good chance that it could be permanently damaged! It’s very easy to ruin a rug when the incorrect rug cleaning technique is not followed. First class floor cleaning and more has the experience to know exactly how to wash your oriental rugs properly.

Area rugs will often be different from other types of floor covering because they’re usually composed of many kinds of fabric and are sometimes woven differently. They may be pricier than the classic wall to wall carpeting present in homes. A lot of the time rugs are the centerpiece of a space.

Rugs are frequently walked on, and they will get quite soiled after a period of use. There is no harm in that – rugs are made to be used. When the rug starts to get soiled or unappealing, the eyes of guests and visitors will in all probability end up concentrating on the messiness of the area rug instead of the overall elegance and aesthetic characteristics of your room as a whole. This can be sad because it shows that no matter how lovely a room is, it can invariably end up being analyzed because of the cleanliness of the area / oriental rug.

Cleaning Silk Rugs In Hightstown

Silk Rugs must be dry cleaned since they are made from vegetable dye. In order to make sure the feel of the silk will stay soft and shiny. In addition, it’s important the brushing of the silk rug is only in one direction therefore the design stays sharp and keeps the area rug vibrant and glossy. Silk area rug usually manufactured in China, Turkey, Iran, and India. Some area rugs are constructed from artificial silk using micro fabric material to look like a silk rug.

Hightstown Leather Rug Cleaning and Animal Skin Rugs

For leather-based and animal skin area rugs we perform a special dry cleaning. It’s vital not to wet it because the leather will crack and get damaged. First class floor cleaning dry clean the leather in a special tumbling machine using a special product. The powder is filled with a solvent which makes all the dirt come out and make the leather fluffy and shiny. We use a chip of wood that scrubs the leather and makes it shiny and clean. We dust the leather and dry it. After drying it we do a unique brush to get it fluffy.

Antique Rug Cleaning Hightstown NJ

Antique Rugs are usually made out of vegetable dye. We use lower PH products to ensure the dye is not going to bleed. Low PH safe guards the area rug in the process of cleaning. Antique rug cleaning is completed by hand, and with soft brushes. We don’t like to put any equipment over an antique area rug. The concept is by using a lot of shampoo and water for rinsing. After cleaning, the drying process is fast, allowing the oriental rug to become soft and the hue radiant.

New Rugs Cleaning Service Hightstown NJ

Brand new Rugs, Chinese Rugs, and Chemical like Dye Rugs are washed with a high PH so colors stay deep and shiny, and the area rug gets clean.

Hightstown Shag and White Rugs Cleaning

For shag and white rugs, the most crucial stage would be to eliminate the dust from inside of the area rug using a tumbling machine without water. There’s a movement inside the machine and the dust goes into the dust collector. It’s important to wash using a low PH to prevent from browning.

Tufted Rug Cleaning Hightstown, Mercer County

A Tufted area rug is usually produced in India and china. In our own opinion, they’re utilizing a horrible glue. The adhesive results in the area rug smelling burn. When the carpet gets subjected to sun or ages, the adhesive gets dry and turns into a white powder. In cases like this, we greatly advise removing the backing as well as glue. We switch it with a brand new adhesive and backing which is green. For Tufted rugs we provide a exterior wash with a steam machine, 600 PSI of injecting steam into the fabric-based then vacuuming it. Then we use a high PH detergent.

Needle Point and End Stitch Rug Cleaning Hightstown, Central NJ

When cleaning needle point and end stitch up area rugs, we wash the area rug with soap and water. The most vital method is after the cleaning to block it to make it square yet again.

We do a hand wash using a especially soft brush for tapestries. We also call it wash and rinse.

We will determine as much as we possibly can about the kind of oriental rug and inherent qualities that may affect cleaning methods. We will define the anticipated outcomes and cleaning “prescription”. Our company will come to your home to pick up your rug.

Step 2: Dry Soil Removal – Dusting
Woven rugs, particularly hand knotted rugs, are made to hide dry soil. A few years ago, the Eureka company was responsible for a study and found that a 9 x 12 could hide 87 pounds of dirt! WOW! We work with a variety of strategies to “dust” the rugs from the front and back. A piece of equipment called a pile lifter, special vacuum attachments, and a number of other methods are executed. This is the most important in cleaning several fabric. We now have three kinds of dusting equipment. 1. Tumbling, 2.Beater, which beats on the reverse of the carpet, 3. Hand-made beater.

Step 3: Pre-Condition
Preconditioning is applied to break down traffic area soil and general spots and to ready your area rug for best soil removal. First Class Rug Cleaning applies SPECIAL cleaning products. These products do not have perfumes, VOC’s, chemicals, phosphates, or any dangerous products. They are biodegradable and environmentally safe. The pre-conditioner can also be deep scrubbed in the face pile.

Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation
Any spots and fringe will be pre-treated with special solutions to to strengthen chances of removal. Cotton backing and fringe contains natural lignin dye in it. This brown dye can bleed out during the rug cleaning and drying process. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil elimination.

Step 5: Soaking, Rinse or Wash
Soaking is one of the most important procedures a rug can go through. By immersing the area rug, we can eliminate dirt, pet stains, and fluid stains. Depending on the style of oriental rug, it will be rinsed with removal equipment on both sides or cleaned in a wash pit developed for Oriental Rugs.

Step 6: Shampoo
Most carpets are washed with an Oriental Rug Shampoo that’s especially designed for getting maximum cleansing. This method is completed after washing and rinsing the rug. It gets the design sharper and removes the loose wool from the area rug.

Step 7: Speed Dry
When the soil is rinsed away, the rug is dried flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment. Effective drying is essential to avoid unnatural shrinkage.

Step 8: Finishing
When the area rug is dry, it will be combed and completed with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.

Hightstown Area Rugs Cleaning Tips

How to maintain your Oriental Rug

[wc_box color=”inverse” text_align=”left”] Rotation – To insure even wear, your area rug should be rotated annually. Depending on the traffic, the rotation can vary from six months to two years.
Vacuuming – Oriental rugs, like most carpeting, should be vacuumed on a regular basis to eliminate dirt and and bring life to fibers. Be sure to not vacuum the fringe with your beater bar! Use the end of a vacuum hose from a canister vacuum.
Padding – A high quality pad used under your rug helps shield it from dirt, wear, and slippage.
Spot and Spill Procedures – Make sure that you safely and immediately clean up spots and spills well before they set.
1. First, soak up the excess liquid by blotting with a clean absorbent material. Don’t brush or rub the stain.
2. Then spot-clean using a mild detergent-white vinegar-water solution. Never over wet.
3. Rinse area thoroughly with water plus a tiny amount of vinegar. Try to avoid wetting the rug’s backing.
4. Blot dry until most of the moisture has been absorbed.
5. Let it air dry. A fan or cool hair dryer can be used to hasten the drying process.
For spots that do not come out using these methods, please contact us.[/wc_box]
