We will determine as much as we possibly can about the style of area rug and built in qualities that could affect cleaning. We will define the expected outcomes and cleaning “prescription”. Our company will come in to your home to pick up your area rug.
Step 2: Dry Soil Removal – Dusting
Woven rugs, particularly hand knotted rugs, are made to conceal dry soil. Some years ago, the Eureka company did a study and found that a 9 x 12 could hide 87 pounds of dirt! WOW! We work with a variety of techniques to “dust” the rugs from the front and back. A machine called a pile lifter, special vacuum attachments, and many other techniques are executed. This is the most important step in cleaning several fabric. We now have three types of dusting equipment. 1. Tumbling, 2.Beater, which beats on the back of the carpet, 3. Hand made beater.
Step 3: Pre-Condition
Preconditioning is applied to break down traffic area soil and common spots as well as to prepare your oriental rug for optimum soil elimination. First Class Rug Cleaning applies SPECIAL cleaning products. These products don’t contain perfumes, VOC’s, solvents, phosphates, or any hazardous products. They are green and ecologically secure. The pre-conditioner is also deep scrubbed in the face pile.
Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation
Any spots and fringe will be pre-treated with special solutions to increase chances of removal. Cotton backing and fringe has natural lignin dye inside it. This brown dye can bleed out during the rug cleaning and drying process. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.
Step 5: Soaking, Rinse or Wash
Soaking is one of the most important processes a rug may undergo. By soaking the oriental rug, we can eliminate dirt, pet stains, and fluid spills. Depending on the type of rug, it will be washed with removal equipment on both sides or cleaned in a wash pit designed especially for Oriental Rugs.
Step 6: Shampoo
Most carpets are washed with an Oriental Rug Shampoo which is especially designed to get optimum cleansing. This process is done after washing and rinsing the rug. It gets the design sharper and takes out the loose wool from the oriental rug.
Step 7: Speed Dry
When the soil is rinsed away, the rug is dried flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment. Proper drying is essential to refrain from unnatural shrinkage.
Step 8: Finishing
When the area rug is dry, it is combed and completed with soft groomers made for specialty area rugs.

Bay Head Area Rugs Cleaning Tips
How to maintain your Oriental Rug
[wc_box color=”inverse” text_align=”left”]
Rotation – To insure even wear, your rug should be rotated once a year. Based on the traffic, the rotation may vary from six months to two years.
Vacuuming – Oriental rugs, like most carpeting, should be vacuumed on a regular basis to eliminate dirt and restore life to the fibers. Be sure not to vacuum the fringe with your beater bar! Use the end of a vacuum hose from a canister vacuum.
Padding – A high quality pad used under your rug helps protect it from dirt, wear, and slippage.
Spot and Spill Procedures – Be sure that you safely and immediately cleanse spots and spills before they set.
1. First, soak up the excess liquid by blotting using a clean absorbent material. Do not brush or rub the stain.
2. Then spot-clean with a mild detergent-white vinegar-water solution. Never over wet.
3. Rinse area thoroughly with water and a tiny amount of vinegar. Avoid wetting the rug’s backing.
4. Blot dry until most of the moisture is absorbed.
5. Let it air dry. A fan or cool hair dryer can be used to hasten the drying process.
For stains that don’t come out with these techniques, please call us.[/wc_box]

Learn about Bay Head, New Jersey:
Bay Head is a borough in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States.
As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough’s population was 968, reflecting a decline of 270 (-21.8%) from the 1,238 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 12 (+1.0%) from the 1,226 counted in the 1990 Census. Bay Head is situated on the Barnegat Peninsula, also known as Barnegat Bay Island, a long, narrow barrier island that separates Barnegat Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. Together with Mantoloking and Point Pleasant, Bay Head is considered part of the Jersey Shore’s “Gold Coast”.
Bay Head was incorporated as a Borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on June 15, 1886, from portions of Brick Township, based on the results of a referendum held three days earlier.
The community was supposed to have been named “Bayhead” after the Bayhead Land Company that developed the area in the 1870s. A railroad sign posted in the 1880s labeled the station as “Bay Head,” and the name stuck when the borough was incorporated in 1886. The name also comes from the town’s location, which is at the “head” of Barnegat Bay
