Tile and Grout Cleaning Asbury Park NJ
First Class Tile and Grout Cleaning utilizes professional strength cleaners as well as high pressure water jets to clean away the dirt in addition to soil from grout lines.
When tile and grout surfaces get filthy, it is often the grout lines that are most noticeable. First Class Tile and Grout Cleaning offers professional service which are designed to deep clean grout lines and keep them from getting dirty yet again. However, it is important to understand in case your grout is “sanded” or “non-sanded”.
Most tile is grouted using sanded grout line. Sanded grout is very porous; when dirty water builds up in sanded grout lines, the water dries leaving filthy grout. If the tile was not sealed initially, or over time the sealer wears off, you’ll have dirty grout.[wc_divider style=”solid” line=”single” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=””]
Grout Cleaning Asbury Park New Jersey
Tile is pretty, durable, and typically quite simple to clean, yet cleaning grout? That’s a different story.
Due to its (typically) lighter complexion and spongy composition, grout is prone to staining. In a tiled entry or mudroom, grime and dirt are the common culprits, while in the kitchen’s, spills are generally more likely to blame. Soap, mold, and mildew meanwhile make it hard to retain clean grout in bathrooms.
The good news is, cleaning grout line efficiently can be possible using only regular household items and a bit of elbow grease.[wc_divider style=”solid” line=”single” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=””]

Granite Maintenance Cleaning Asbury Park
Granite doesn’t have an acid sensitivity as the calcareous natural stone similar to marble, flagstone and travertine contain. We oftentimes still use alkaline cleaning product on granite due to the fact that alkaline cleaners emulsify dirt better than acids. If the granite floor has a sanded grout factor, we oftentimes will clean the floor with an alkaline solution and then follow up with a second step-in the cleaning procedure.
We’ll use an acid to clean the grout when it is deemed safe and essential to get stains from the grout to release. Afterwards we use an industry accepted spinner tool which provides pressure as well as vacuum for extraction. This process also removes dirt from the top of your grout lines. This is the industry recommended method to clean granite and tile floors.
Granite floors require a maintenance plan to keep them appearing as good as possible. This should consist of dry dust mopping on a regular basis using a clean rayon mop or static pad. Vacuuming with a hard surface vacuum also will work. This is to remove the debris and dirt that builds on your floor as a result of foot traffic, pets and so forth.
It is very important remove this dirt because damp mopping is typically necessary at the very least every week. If the dirt and debris that gathers is allowed to stay on the floor, when damp mopping occurs, that dirt is turned to mud and is forced into the grout lines by the mop. This makes your grout lines dirty very quickly. When damp mopping with soap, rinsing will be required. Following mopping with any soap solution, use a different rinse mop, and go over the area once again with clean water.
Often these floors don’t need a similar care from abrasion and etching as a marble, travertine or limestone floors, they do will have to be polished from time to time. It’s important to follow the rinsing methods explained above because when a soap film accumulates on granite, it reduces the polished appearance, and can make it look dull. That dullness is removed with proper cleaning. For this reason, we recommend cleaning your Asbury Park granite floors yearly.[wc_divider style=”solid” line=”single” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=””]

Every other natural stone surface[/wc_column][/wc_row] Cleaning hard surfaces in Asbury Park NJ, 07712 isn’t so easy. The biggest problem many of us face with today’s hard surfaces is ‘protection’ or ‘repellency’. Nearly all surfaces haven’t been appropriately sealed, if at all. Hard surfaces which are un-sealed or are sealed with low quality sealants is a sponge for oil, food or beverage spills, that may result in long-lasting staining.
Effective sealing can and will result in much easier maintenance. This would keep your hard-surface investments, so you can take better care of them, while adding up beauty and value to your home.
[wc_divider style=”solid” line=”single” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=””]
Did you know?
- Vinegar and ammonia can damage most sealers?
- Most installers don’t seal the surfaces they put in?
- Many floor cleaning products leave a residue which could inhibit sealants and attract soil faster?
In this fact-filled consumer’s message you’ll find out how to effectively maintain your hard surfaces.
So, let’s begin!
HARD-SURFACE STAIN PROTECTION AND REPELLENCY TESTS
Here is a simple water based stain protection test you can do in your own home:
- Take a spoon of water and pour it on the hard surface you wish to analyze, along with any grout
- Wait about 15 (fifteen) minutes
- Visual Testing: Did the water absorb? Does the color change?
- Using a clean white absorbent towel, ‘dab’ the excess moisture.
- Touch Testing: Does the tile or grout feel damp? Does moisture still feel evident?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, your hard surfaces are not sealed properly and are vulnerable to staining. Call us to talk about proper sealing applications.
Most contractors do not seal the surfaces they install designed for a range of reasons. The primary reason is that it can’t be done up until at a minimum of three days following installation, which means they’d have to return back. Most tile contractors don’t offer a protection service so they don’t even inform consumers of the value of these process. That being said, the advantages of sealing are obvious. There are several sealants available to the general public through hardware stores, etc.
Unfortunately, they are low-grade to sealers that a hard-surface professional would likely use. Some need repeating application, some are too easily ‘washed’ off with general maintenance products, as well as some just protect against water based stains, leaving your floor vulnerable.
Still if you apply the very best sealers available, without a solid understanding of the product and the specific material you will be sealing, you still won’t have a accurately sealed floor. Only specific training as well as years of experience can give you the knowledge necessary to obtain maximum protection for your hard-surfaces.
Sealed surfaces do not allow penetration of liquids that can become long-lasting. Preserve your hard surfaces today for a small fraction of the cost of repair. You won’t be regretful![wc_divider style=”solid” line=”single” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=””]
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions About Cleaning Hard Surfaces
[wc_box color=”inverse” text_align=”left”]Q: We have been informed that bleaching the grout lines is going to make them look whiter? Are these claims accurate?
A: Bleach will make them brighter, even so you you might need to check with the grout manufacturer before starting, to be sure the color wasn’t dyed, or bleach will actually take off the color.
Q: I have what seems like water stain on the tiles at my kitchen’s, what can they be and in what way could i remove them?
A: So called “water” stains can be wide range of things, based on the particular tile you have. Many time, water or mineral deposits can be taken out whether with polishing with honing powders and a hog hair pad or by using specific acid cleaners. Please DO NOT attempt either of these without the proper training, as you may permanently damage floor tiles. To remove these stains perhaps it is required to contact a professional.
Q: I purchased a ‘steamer’ to clean my tile and grout floors with. It truly works pretty well, but some of the grout line is breaking? What would I do?
A: First, stop all ‘steaming’ til you have the grout restore. Moisture that will get between the tile as well as subfloor is going to be trapped beneath your tiles and will expand and loosen tile from the concrete or subfloor. Rinsing the floor is a wonderful thing, BUT, you should have the right products to make sure to are not damaging the sealer.
Q: What length of time will sealants last?
A: That relies on the sealer, the technique of application, and the frequency and type of maintenance and care. Your sealer can last from around 6 months to 10 years and also over.[/wc_box]
